Last month, Microsoft made the OpenAI o1 reasoning AI model free for all Copilot users, though free users had message limits. Now, those restrictions have been lifted for the Think Deeper feature, as well as time limits for voice communication with Copilot via Voice in Copilot.
“We’re working hard to get unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, starting with Voice and Think Deeper,” the Copilot team stated. However, Microsoft also cautions that users may experience delays or outages during peak times or if security issues, misuse, or other violations of the Copilot Terms of Service are detected.
Paid Users Retain Exclusive Benefits
These changes come two years after Microsoft first launched Copilot in Bing and just a month after adjusting its Copilot Pro subscription to include Office AI features in Microsoft 365. Despite removing limits for free users, Microsoft continues to offer a $20 per month Copilot Pro subscription. Paid users will still receive priority access to the latest AI models during peak usage, early access to experimental features, and extended use of Copilot within select Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft has announced that details on upcoming experimental features for paid subscribers will be shared soon, adds NIX Solutions. A recent hint from a Microsoft insider suggests that GPT-4.5 could be released this week, with GPT-5 following soon after.
We’ll keep you updated as Microsoft rolls out new AI advancements and enhancements to Copilot’s capabilities.
