NIXsolutions: Native Copilot App Now on Windows

Microsoft has finally launched a fully native version of its Copilot app for Windows, nearly a year after shifting it to a web-based version. This week, Windows Insiders gained access to the updated app, now built using native XAML. It features a new sidebar and an improved interface, enhancing usability.

Improved Features and Interface

The Copilot app now follows the design of the recently released Copilot for macOS, allowing users to upload images, generate text, and create new images. Additionally, it supports voice interaction via a microphone and includes a redesigned sidebar for easier access to conversation history.

Originally, Microsoft integrated Copilot into Windows 11 as a built-in “personal assistant.” However, a year later, the company replaced this integration with a simpler web version, making it less useful on the new Copilot+ series of PCs. Despite some minor improvements, such as added keyboard shortcuts, this latest update marks the most significant redesign yet.

Availability and Recent Fixes

The updated Copilot app will initially be available to all Windows Insiders through the Microsoft Store and is expected to roll out to all Windows 11 PCs in the coming weeks, adds NIXsolutions.

Recently, Microsoft also addressed an “unfortunate bug” in Copilot that was providing users with tips on how to activate pirated versions of Windows 11. Yet, we’ll keep you updated as more improvements and fixes are introduced.
