YouTube’s R&D team recently announced on the official blog that their new gaming initiative, Playables, is advancing to the next level. This feature offers a selection of free casual games directly available on YouTube. Testing began last year, including for Premium subscribers, and concluded in March of this year.
Rollout and Availability
According to Google, Playables is now being rolled out to all users. The process is gradual, and over the coming months, the company will expand the availability of this section. You can find Playables in the “Navigator” tab and on the YouTube main page in the browser version of the service, or in the mobile application for iOS and Android devices.
Game Selection and Features
Currently, the Playables section includes more than 75 lightweight games such as chess, crosswords (Words of Wonders), and popular mobile entertainment like Angry Birds Showdown, Cut the Rope, Tomb of the Mask, and Trivia Crack. Users have the ability to save progress and track their best scores. Additionally, gamers can share their favorite games with friends using the three-dot menu. The YouTube team also encourages users to share their ideas for improving Playables through the “Send Feedback” button, hidden behind the three-dot menu on the game screen, adds NIX Solutions.
We’ll keep you updated on further expansions and enhancements to Playables as they become available.
